01 Meet the course and your mentors
Week 1

Lacy Bird Academy · online course · Coming soon
A practical online course
How to set up a flower studio with minimal investment — and get your first order.
Inside: how to build a concept, find the people who will buy, register your business, choose your flower assortment, set up advertising and land that first order.
/ Reality check
The reality you'll have to face:
No budget to start
It's hard to tell how much you need — everyone names a different figure, from modest to millions. What you need is the minimum amount to try safely.
No idea which bouquets sell
Follow demand or work in your own style? Do you have to sacrifice your individuality? And how do you promote your vision with no budget for expensive shoots?
Social media and websites are a dark forest
Never run social media? Where do you start, what do you post, what must you show and what can wait? Do you really have to dance with bouquets for TikTok? A website is needed too — but there's no time to figure it out.
Florist, courier, marketer and seller — when do you live?
Can you manage alone, with family, hobbies and life? It's hard to tell key processes from secondary ones, and online launch checklists run to hundreds of items. Scary, very scary!

/ Breathe out
“I started with two kids in a flat — and I knew I would make it.”
Sofia Veiber, founder of Lacy Bird and Lacy Bird Academy
The hardest part of our business is to start. After that it's a matter of technique and skill.
Sofia became a legend of the floral world with one of its most recognisable styles — «a Lacy Bird-style bouquet» has become a household name. Her studios make more than 15,000 bouquets a year, with a team of 30 professionals.
/ The formula

Concept
Clients remember us, and we know exactly why they choose us for special occasions.

Service
We keep every promise and meet our clients' expectations.

Product
Our idea of a beautiful bouquet matches exactly what our clients love.

Sales
We make sure people hear about us, talk about us and — most importantly — buy from us.
/ What you'll do
Find out whether your bouquets are in demand in your city, region or country — and whether your vision matches the values of the people you plan to sell to.
The market is saturated: any bouquet for any occasion is a click away. Your job is to make special pieces that stand out — with a concept that grabs attention and makes you memorable.
Even starting from home you need a separate space. Don't keep flowers in your food fridge — it hurts their quality. The right conditions are key, even at the start.
So you can take payments officially and buy at wholesale flower markets at wholesale prices — cutting costs and making the business easier to run.
Social media carries your concept and builds long-term relationships. Selling to followers costs 2–3 times less than winning a new audience, so loyalty and regular contact matter.
To sell, you have to learn to sell. Search engines, maps and targeted ads bring clients who are already interested in what you offer.
See the business as a whole and where to focus — so you spend resources wisely and concentrate on what drives growth.

/ Why Lacy Bird Academy
It's what our students love most: a place to dive into creativity and stay at the cutting edge.
No knowledge detached from reality. We test everything in the Lacy Bird studio first and share it with students only once it works.
We tell it like it is — our wins and failures, our finds and shortcuts. That's how trust is built.
Creativity, colour, imagination and courage matter most to us, so we pay special attention to them throughout the course.
