When are flowers cheapest? A month-by-month seasonal index of 251+ flowers
A flower is at its best value in peak season — when it grows locally and floods the market. Out of season, the same stem arrives by air freight and costs far more. Using our open Flower Encyclopedia, we counted how many of 251+ cut flowers hit their seasonal peak each month. The pattern is stark.
Flowers at seasonal peak, by month
Terracotta = flowers at their seasonal peak (cheapest, most abundant). The light track behind is how many are available at all that month.
How to read it:counts are of distinct flower types, not stems or price. “Peak” is each flower’s own best season from the encyclopedia; “available” includes imported supply. Method: we tallied the seasonPeak and availableMonths fields across every flower.
