20–22 September 2025 — Hong Kong, China — the vertical city, and our return to where the Asian tours began.
Back to the city where the Asian tours first began, this September edition traded the studio for a rooftop, several storeys up, where the class worked against a wall of residential towers, air-conditioning units and dusk-blue sky. On the timber decking they raised a gold-framed arch and dressed it with clouds of blush and apricot garden roses, letting the flowers spill down to the boards below into drifts of pink hydrangea, trailing amaranthus, lotus pods and the pale spidery blooms of nerine, all edged with cushions of moss and a scatter of white pebbles. It was a garden conjured on concrete, and it held its own against the skyline behind it.
The three days moved between that large-scale build and quieter work at the bench. The palette stayed soft and warm: peach, cream and apricot for the hand-tied bouquets, loosened with spires of foxtail lily, snapdragon and white chrysanthemum, then deepened for the compote arrangements into raspberry pink, crimson and burgundy, with tawny anthurium, green hydrangea and arching bells of Ireland for line.
Finished bouquets were carried down to the street and photographed against a rolled steel shutter, the metal catching the light behind each one. A pink-and-red compote was set on a mint windowsill, the city framed through the glass beside it.
It closed as these editions do, on a graduating group gathered against a rough plaster wall, one of them holding the blue Lacy Bird Academy certificate, three days of flowers behind them.

The three days
Every touring edition runs the same Lacy Bird programme, rebuilt around the local market's flowers:
- Day one — colour theory and the house palette, the composition system, the boxed arrangement and the round commercial bouquet.
- Day two — the spreading bouquet, wrapping and presentation, and a professional photoshoot of every participant's finished work.
- Day three — large-scale event decor and installation, the business of floristry, and certificates.
