Cut, hellebores last about 5–10 days; keep them cool and topped up with fresh water.
How to gift and display it
Cut hellebores are famously short-lived unless the stems are seared in boiling water for a few seconds or slit up the side; treated, they last five to ten days. They look their best floating — the nodding heads cut short and set face-up in a shallow bowl. A potted plant is the longer gift and returns each winter.
