Double tulip

Tulipa (double-flowered varieties) · aka peony tulip

Double tulips — often marketed as 'peony tulips' — carry a peony-shaped bloom on a tulip stem. During the peony gap (July–April in the northern hemisphere), double tulips are the closest substitute at a fraction of the cost. La Belle Époque is the wedding favourite: dusty peach fading to cream.
